We’re excited to share our featured article in Operation Warm’s newsletter highlighting our recent distribution of 85 pairs of new shoes to local children in need. Operation Warm, a national non-profit, aims to alleviate the financial strain on low-income families by “providing warmth, confidence, and hope through basic need programs that connect underserved kids to community resources needed to thrive.”
From the article:
Longtime executive director Betsy Billie said the gifts were extremely appreciated and very much needed for kids in low-income families who grow out of shoes every six months.
“With the cost of everything these days, new shoes are not a high priority over food and rent,” Billie said. “This brightens their day and makes them feel so appreciated.”
