A Message from Betsy Billie, Executive Director
WCADCC had a great 2016 and we were honored to be named The Reader’s Choice Winner for BEST DAYCARE! We upheld our commitment to quality, early childhood education by maintaining our Keystone Star 3 and have been at full enrollment again all year! As always, the support from The United Way of Chester County is one of the main reasons we continue to serve our community so well. Our partnerships with the West Chester Food Cupboard, The Chester County Food Bank, West Chester Public Library, The Chester County Library, Life Transforming Ministries/VITA, the Delaware Valley Children's Charity, Giant, Panera Bread...the list goes on and on...all help us serve the needs of our families on so many different levels and we appreciate every single person involved. The Child and Adult Care Food Program (CACFP) continues to assist us in providing free, nutritious breakfasts, lunches, snacks and formula/ baby food so that every single child eats well and eats for free! Many visitors and families are very impressed with our huge, interactive playgrounds for infant/toddlers and for pre-school/school-age students. We encourage everyone to stop down and see our center in person so you too can see firsthand why we are such a success and make such a huge impact on the families in our community! Naturally, none of this would have been possible without our fabulous families, staff, donors, volunteers and community!
Our big news is that we will be undergoing a huge renovation soon! We will be transforming the front office/lobby/staff areas to become much more efficient and professional. The laundry room will be bigger to handle all the wash we do on a daily basis while we care for 117 children! The copier room and staff lounge will merge into one big space which will be better for our staff, allow for a bigger meeting area, and provide space for students to get individualized instruction from various early intervention organizations. The office side will transform into three separate spaces moving the reception desk to be located at the door which will enhance security, communication and efficiency. The new arrangement will also allow for more privacy with meetings and conferences. We are very excited for this project and will keep everyone posted about its progress.
Our childcare center provides a solid, early educational foundation for children by implementing a developmentally appropriate curriculum for children aged six weeks through Kindergarten which operates on a year-round basis from 6:30 a.m. until 5:30 p.m. We also care for school age children from kindergarten age through twelve years old for before and after school, on half days and days off from school as well as full time during the summer. We are a bus stop for more than six schools (East Goshen, Westtown-Thornbury, Collegium, Family Academy, Goshen Friends and St Agnes with additional buses for children with different abilities). We address the nutritional needs of every child in our care during these crucial years of early development by providing free, nutritionally balanced meals for all children and formula for our infants. Every single child eats for free and eats well. We provide a full breakfast, a full lunch and a snack every day for every child at no additional cost to any family!
